How music videos are regulated

Music videos are regulated by the BBFC (British board of film classification). The role of the BBFC is to check content that is added onto the web and then if it is required add a age restriction if it includes adult content. The BBFC cannot control most of the content that is posted online so they ask communities on the internet and people to report a post if they believe it should have an age restriction to it. Robin Thicke, Calvin Harris and Snoop Dogg have music videos that are age restricted because of adult themes that are involved that should not be viewed by younger age groups. Regulation of music videos are taken very seriously within communities and by the BBFC. One of Rihanna's music videos which included adult content was banned in nearly ten countries. A few years ago the government in the UK introduced a law that prevent sexualisation of children in music videos and they said that this act will help prevent indecent child content on the internet.

As you can see from above it is very important that we stick to important regulations that are enforced on music videos, because it can result in our YouTube channel where we post content getting suspended and we can be charged if there is content that can be classed as entirely inappropriate. However if we do have adult themes in our music video it is important that we let YouTube know that they need to set and age restriction to the video so that we are not fined and banned.
